Media Relations Relaunch: Helping Our Customers Earn More Impactful Media Coverage

Customize, personalize, and search your media lists and profiles. Combine imported contacts with native data that’s private to you and your team. Access a CRM-like team view of your media outreach helping you landing more impactful media coverage. ✨ What is it? Introducing a reworked Media Relations Platform, featuring an overhauled media database, common CRM features, and more customizable search for targeted media lists. Contact profiles in Media Relations now feature badges indicating profile types: automated, verified, private, and user-modified. We’ve also improved the data and contact richness in our media relations platform for more consistent updates and made it easier to bring in your imported media lists. What’s the value? By enhancing the database quality, we’ve made it easier to take control of your media outreach, ensure your message resonates, and secure more impactful coverage. Meanwhile, the CRM capabilities enable you to customize profiles, search by more fields, and share information across your team.Establish or strengthen relationships with influential media members. Our updated database amplifies relationship-building and streamlines landing coverage. Build media lists, faster: Understand your team’s pitch history at-a-glance to build more relevant and actionable media lists. Discover, personalize and make use of contact profiles for more informed research. Find your team’s expertise in one centralized hub: Unlock more targeted outreach. Personalize contact profiles to present the most authoritative information on contacts you know. Spend less time sifting through sources and more time on building valuable connections. These updates bring common media relations tasks into one centralized hub, and enable your team to get back to the stuff that matters, like crafting your outreach. Why it matters:  Drafting personalized and compelling pitches requires time-consuming research. We’re providing easy access to past articles and tweets to understand their interests and preferences, as well as full email integration which helps them understand and leverage the context and outcomes of past correspondence. But a more complete, continuously updated database is only the first step. Our hypothesis is that by integrating what journalists are writing about and the ongoing correspondence between PR pros and members of the media, we will simplify the efforts PR teams put into creating and nurturing these relationships, direct them away from mass emails to a more personalized approach. Our product vision has therefore expanded beyond a media contact database. Our vision is to create a solution that serves our customers as a system of record tracking their efforts to land impactful coverage, as well as the outcomes and impact of those efforts. Learn more:Help Center Articles: Media Relations: Profile Types & Contact Roles How to do Media Research in Meltwater to Discover Relevant Contacts & Publications

📢 Calling All Media Relations Users: We Want Your Feedback on the New PR Assistant! Today we're thrilled to introduce PR Assistant, your ultimate writing companion powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT API, right within Meltwater. We can’t wait to tell you all about it, but we want to let you know up front: we’re also here to request your feedback.  We want to hear all about your experience with this first iteration of the PR Assistant tool. Your input is crucial for us to continue innovating and enhancing future versions of PR Assistant, ensuring that it meets all your pitching and press release needs 🙌 Ok, without any further ado, let’s jump right in: What is PR Assistant? 🙋 PR Assistant is a text editor tool that suggests and improves your writing as you draft your press releases and email pitches. With the power of generative AI, it consolidates the pitching and press release editing process into one seamless experience. Simply put, it will save you time, enable scalable outreach, and help you build relevant relationships with journalists 🤝 What’s the Value? 🤩 Save time and effort in the writing process, from generating new ideas to refining your drafts Find the perfect tone with preselected options ranging from professional to hyped, ensuring effective communication Scale relevant pitches and press releases effortlessly. Make minor edits to help your message resonate with specific journalists, or convert your press release into a pitch to add relevance and credibility after publication Why Did We Build This? 💪 As of January 2023, 30% of professionals say they’ve already harnessed the power of generative AI in their daily work. Now, PR Assistant is here to empower PR pros like you tackle time-consuming tasks such as error-checking, formatting, and condensing lengthy text blocks into concise pitches 🙌 By integrating AI into your workflow, you'll gain more time to focus on the aspects of your job that machines can’t do - speak to, understand, interact with, and be creative with people.  How Does it Work? ⚙️ Getting started with PR Assistant is a breeze:Navigate to the Media Relations tab in the left-hand navigation bar and select PR Assistant. Click the text box and enter your key messages or a first draft. Select the format option to apply a pitch or a press release format. Customize further by modifying the length (“Short, Medium, or Long”), add or edit quotes, and attribute them to named individuals. (Though a quote is not required to build the pitch or press release, we recommend you use them!) Preview the output on the right side, and when you're ready, click Generate. Click into the text block to further customize the content, or click Regenerate to generate a new draft before copying the text.💡 Remember, PR Assistant is a drafting tool, not a final version generator. Just like you would with a junior staffer, you should review, fact-check, and edit the draft to fit your personal voice and ensure accuracy. Learn more about how to use the PR Assistant in our help center HERE.  Your Feedback Matters! 🗣️ We’re excited about the current iteration of PR Assistant, but it’s your feedback that will help us make it truly extraordinary! We want to understand the aspects of your work that may not be fully solved or aided by the tool, so we can innovate and enhance future versions 🧠 We invite you to share any and all feedback you have about PR Assistant.
