📢 Calling All Media Relations Users: We Want Your Feedback on the New PR Assistant!

Today we're thrilled to introduce PR Assistant, your ultimate writing companion powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT API, right within Meltwater. We can’t wait to tell you all about it, but we want to let you know up front: we’re also here to request your feedback.

We want to hear all about your experience with this first iteration of the PR Assistant tool. Your input is crucial for us to continue innovating and enhancing future versions of PR Assistant, ensuring that it meets all your pitching and press release needs 🙌

Ok, without any further ado, let’s jump right in:

What is PR Assistant? 🙋

PR Assistant is a text editor tool that suggests and improves your writing as you draft your press releases and email pitches. With the power of generative AI, it consolidates the pitching and press release editing process into one seamless experience. Simply put, it will save you time, enable scalable outreach, and help you build relevant relationships with journalists 🤝

What’s the Value? 🤩

  • Save time and effort in the writing process, from generating new ideas to refining your drafts
  • Find the perfect tone with preselected options ranging from professional to hyped, ensuring effective communication
  • Scale relevant pitches and press releases effortlessly. Make minor edits to help your message resonate with specific journalists, or convert your press release into a pitch to add relevance and credibility after publication

Why Did We Build This? đź’Ş

As of January 2023, 30% of professionals say they’ve already harnessed the power of generative AI in their daily work. Now, PR Assistant is here to empower PR pros like you tackle time-consuming tasks such as error-checking, formatting, and condensing lengthy text blocks into concise pitches 🙌

By integrating AI into your workflow, you'll gain more time to focus on the aspects of your job that machines can’t do - speak to, understand, interact with, and be creative with people.

How Does it Work? ⚙️

Getting started with PR Assistant is a breeze:

  1. Navigate to the Media Relations tab in the left-hand navigation bar and select PR Assistant.
  2. Click the text box and enter your key messages or a first draft.
  3. Select the format option to apply a pitch or a press release format.
  4. Customize further by modifying the length (“Short, Medium, or Long”), add or edit quotes, and attribute them to named individuals. (Though a quote is not required to build the pitch or press release, we recommend you use them!)
  5. Preview the output on the right side, and when you're ready, click Generate.
  6. Click into the text block to further customize the content, or click Regenerate to generate a new draft before copying the text.

đź’ˇ Remember, PR Assistant is a drafting tool, not a final version generator. Just like you would with a junior staffer, you should review, fact-check, and edit the draft to fit your personal voice and ensure accuracy.

Hi, I’ve recently used the PR Assistant for pitches and it is very helpful. We put in what we;ve created as blog on trending hacks using our products and the AI creates pretty good consise pitches to open pitches we have sent out. We have received interested responses to the pitches. So I think it works well. We haven’t used it to send out press releases yet but the pitch tool is good. We are willing to try it for a press release with the right data to input.
