Trends Center Overview

Trends Center in Monitor helps you track and analyze trending hashtags across different locations, categories, and timeframes —giving your marketing and communications teams the insights needed to create timely, relevant content that resonates with your audience.

You don’t need a TikTok account to access these insights. Our TikTok integration pulls real-time data from TikTok’s API, bringing you the latest trends, top-performing content, and key engagement insights - all within Monitor.

The content available is similar to what appears in TikTok's Creative Center.

Note: Meltwater’s Trends Center feature in Monitor is powered by TikTok’s Discovery API — a data source built exclusively for trusted TikTok partners like us. This API goes beyond what TikTok’s native Creative Center offers, giving brands strategic insights that drive better decisions.

Because the Discovery API is still evolving, Meltwater users are at the forefront of shaping TikTok’s analytics future. By using Monitor, you’re not just tracking trends — you’re helping define how they’re understood and measured across the industry.

Viewing Trends in Monitor

To view Trends in Monitor, follow these steps:

1. Click Monitor in the left-hand navigation bar

2. If you haven’t created a Monitor Stream, click the Create Monitoring View button (otherwise, skip to step 3).

3. Select Trends Center

    

   

    

    

4. Use filters to refine your results (see filter options below):

   • Country (Select from 246 available regions)

   • Category (View trends by industry or interest)

   • Date Range (Choose from 1, 7, 30, or 120 days)

Viewing Top Posts in the Trends Center

To view a list of the most viewed posts related to the selected hashtag, follow these steps:

1. Click Monitor in the left-hand navigation bar

2. Select Trends Center

3. When hovering over the hashtags you will see View top posts

    

   

    

4. Select the hashtag you want to view top posts for

5. The Hashtag Overview slide-out will appear, featuring two tabs: Top Videos and Analytics.

    

   

    

Top Videos Tab

The top videos tab features embedded videos featuring the hashtag you are analyzing. You can click on a video to play it directly in Meltwater or open it in TikTok.

Analytics Tab

The Analytics tab features seven widgets across 3 sections

• Rank

  • Current - current rank position of the hashtag among hashtags within the same category or industry in the selected region

  • Change - the change in rank position compared to the rank in the last time period

• Views

  • Period - views for related videos that feature this hashtag in the selected region and timeframe

  • Total - total views for related videos that feature this hashtag, globally and across their whole lifetime

  • Trend - trend graph featuring actual numbers with trendline

     

    

     

• Audience

  • Top Countries - top five countries for the audience

  • Age Breakdown - audience age breakdown across 18-24, 25-34, 35+

     

    

     

Viewing Top Tracks in the Trends Center

The Top Tracks tab helps you identify the audio fueling their momentum. This adds another layer of inspiration for campaign creative, influencer collaboration, and content alignment.

To discover trending audio tracks driving engagement on TikTok, follow these steps:

1. Click Monitor in the left-hand navigation bar

2. Select Trends Center

3. Click Top Tracks

    

   

    

4. The Top Tracks tab displays the 100 most popular audio tracks trending on TikTok for the selected date range. Each track includes the following columns:

   1. Rank: Current position of the track compared to all others in the list.

   2. Name: The song or audio track title, making it easy to identify and search.

   3. Artist: Attribution of the creator or artist behind the track, important for understanding cultural relevance and potential partnership opportunities.

   4. Duration: The length of the track, which can signal how it is typically used in TikTok videos (e.g., short audio snippets versus longer clips).

   5. Genre: The musical category of the track, helping users connect audio trends with cultural moments and audience preferences.

   6. Rank Change: Movement of the track compared to the previous time period, highlighting whether a track is breaking out, peaking, or declining in popularity.

5. Click a track to open the Track Overview slide-out. This includes embedded videos featuring the track you are analyzing

    

   

    

6. Click on a video to play it directly in Meltwater to hear the track or open it in TikTok.

Exporting Top Posts or Top Tracks

To export Top Posts and Top Tracks, follow these steps:

1. Click Monitor in the left-hand navigation bar

2. Select Trends Center

3. Click Top Hashtags or Top Tracks

    

   

    

4. Click Download CSV

    

   

    

5. Your CSV will download to your computer

Note: CSV exports are available for Top Hashtags, 30 day view history for hashtags, and Top Tracks.
