Nonprofit Roundtable: Managing Crisis Comms When Staff or Funding Challenges Go Public

About this event

In this month’s Nonprofit Roundtable, we’re diving into a reality many organizations face but rarely discuss openly: how to communicate clearly and compassionately when internal challenges become public.

Staffing shortages, leadership transitions, grant losses, or funding gaps can quickly become news stories or ignite conversations online. When that happens, nonprofit communicators must protect trust, reassure stakeholders, maintain transparency, and keep mission impact at the center of every message.

This session is not a webinar. It’s an open, peer-led conversation created for nonprofit communications, PR, fundraising, and community engagement professionals looking for a safe space to share strategies, compare approaches, and learn how others navigate high-pressure moments.

What We’ll Discuss

  • How do you respond when staffing issues or turnover spark public concern?

  • What’s your approach when funding cuts, missed grants, or financial strain become part of the public narrative?

  • How do you align executive leadership, HR, development, and communications teams during sensitive moments?

  • What frameworks help you decide how transparent to be, internally and externally?

  • How do you communicate stability, empathy, and mission focus when emotions and community reactions run high?

This roundtable is part of Meltwater’s Industry Circles program—client-only spaces inside mCommunity where professionals in similar sectors connect, collaborate, and learn how others are using Meltwater to address the real-world challenges of nonprofit communications.

This session has limited availability, and registration will close once all 35 seats have been filled.
