Need to find a specific article, online mention or broadcast clip?


Follow the options below to locate your specific mentions.

 


 

Option 1: Search by Headline

Searching by headline is usually the fastest way to find an article.


Use this method when:

  • Someone shares an article with you
  • You can see the full headline
  • The content was published recently

Steps

  1. Copy the article headline
     

     

  1. Navigate to Explore.

  2. Select Keyword Search.

  3. Paste the headline into the All of these search box

     

     

  4. In the date picker, adjust the date range to include the publication date.
     
  5. Select Search.

  6. The article will appear in the content stream below.
     


 

Option 2: Search by URL

If a headline search doesn't return the article, try searching using the article URL.


Use this method when:

  • You have the article link available
  • The publication uses a stable URL structure

Steps

  1. Copy the article URL.
  2. Navigate to Explore.
  3. Open Advanced Search.
  4. In the search box enter: URL:"paste article URL here"
     

     

  1.  In the date picker, adjust the date range to include the publication date.
     

     
  2. Select Search.

  3. The article will appear in the content stream below.
     


 

Option 3: Search Using Keywords

Sometimes headlines change or URLs don't work reliably. In these situations, searching with keywords from the article is often the best option.


Use this method when:

  • The headline search doesn't work
  • The URL search doesn't work
  • The publication sits behind a paywall

Steps

  1. Identify a few unique terms from the article, such as:
    • Company names
    • Executive names
    • Topics discussed
    • Unique phrases
  2. Navigate to Explore
  3. Open the Keyword Search.
  4. In the All of these box enter your company keywords or executive names/spokespeople
     
  5. In the date picker, adjust the date range to include the publication date.
     
  6. Select Search.

  7. The article will appear in the content stream below.

 

 

💡 For Broadcast: repeat these steps using keywords from the broadcast segment and change the Source Filter tBroadcast

 

 



 

Option 4: Search Using the Article Text

If you can see part of the article before a paywall appears, you can search using the article text itself.


Use this method when:

  • The headline isn't returning results
  • The URL isn't working
  • You have access to a paragraph or article preview

Steps

  1. Copy a unique sentence or paragraph from the article.
  2. Navigate to Explore
  3. Open the Keyword Search.
  4. In the All of these box, paste the article text
  5. In the date picker, adjust the date range to include the publication date.
     

     

  6. Select Search.
  7. If the specific publication does not appear in the content stream, select similar on visible articles
     
  8. Scroll through the similar articles to locate your specific article.

Sharing Coverage

 

Once you've found the content, you can share it directly from Meltwater.


Options include:
 

  • Using the Share button
    1. Hover over the article 
    2. Select the more options
    3. Click Share via email or post to social media
       

       

  • Copying the article link
    1. Hover over the article headline
    2. Right click and copy link
