Best Ways to Pull Data in Meltwater

Hi All,

 

I have noticed that the “Explore” feature allows for way more filtering of data and also includes a bunch of visualizations for me. “Analyze” dashboards doesn’t allow as much filtering or flexibility. Is this the best way to pull CSV raw data is in the “Explore” feature/tab? How should I pull monthly data? Do I need to filter each month in the date range and pull CSV downloads each time for each month?

@BAHAnalytics - once you have applied the filter to the search, click the down arrow next to Save to open the Save as option.

 

Then, give this a name (I chose the name of the search I was modifying + the custom category filter I applied to it):

 

This will save the search in its current state, with all filters applied, and will allow you to select it for your dashboards. For example, here I used those two searches to show that environmental issues take up 1% of the conversation around academic and educational topics:

    Hey @BAHAnalytics - great point about the filtering and flexibility of Explore data! You can export up to 20k results at a time using the export features in Explore, and it sounds like pulling your exports by date range will probably be the most effective way to get this.

    Out of curiosity, which filters are you looking to apply to your Dashboards? As you probably know, filters for Source Type, Language, Location, Sentiment, and Media Type are available in Dashboards out of the box. If you need keyword, author, or custom category filters you will need to apply them to your search, and then save under a different name (effectively creating a new search). This will allow you to use those filtered searches for comparative or specialized data in your Dashboards, but it does take an extra Explore search slot if you need to conserve those.

      I figured out how to saved an advanced search based on the boolean parameters, but how do you save the other filters in the explore feature to a search?
