Workshop topic

This workshop is a practical, results-driven walkthrough of how I used Meltwater as an all-in-one system for:

  • Brand monitoring best practices (mentions, trends, and conversation shifts)

  • Behavioral analytics (dashboards that show what’s working and why)

  • Social scheduling at scale (consistency without burnout)

  • Translating Meltwater insights into content decisions that drive measurable growth

This session is designed for social teams who already have Meltwater access but want to move beyond basic usage into repeatable, strategic workflows. This workshop aligns with Meltwater Summit themes around brand monitoring best practices, behavioral analytics, and trends in social insights.

Why this topic matters + attendee takeaways

Many organizations invest in tools like Meltwater but don’t have a clear system for turning data into action. This workshop shows exactly how to set up Meltwater so it supports a full workflow: listen → plan → publish → measure.

Attendees will walk away with:

  • A framework for configuring Meltwater dashboards for leadership-ready reporting

  • Practical ways to monitor brand mentions and spot emerging trends early

  • A simple workflow for turning insights into content strategy

  • Scheduling best practices for multi-platform consistency

  • Tips for becoming a “power user” through Meltwater training resources and webinar learning

About me

I’m Sara Thomas, and I lead digital strategy and social media for the nonprofit Air Force Museum Foundation in Dayton, Ohio. In 2025, I drove significant multi-platform social growth, including:

  • 6.51M impressions (+176%)

  • 4.32M reach (+177%)

  • 332K engagements (+145%)

  • 22.5K net new fans (+1296%)

  • 8.70% engagement rate (+24%)

Meltwater was integral to achieving these results. As performance scaled, I deepened my platform expertise through Meltwater Product Webinars and training resources and used Meltwater daily to unify social listening, scheduling, and analytics into one streamlined workflow. For example, when planning our TikTok strategy, social listening revealed that the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base “alien conspiracy” conversation had millions of mentions and strong engagement. We built a content approach around that insight, created an alien mascot for the platform, and used analytics to refine which specific contexts and formats performed best with our audience. The alien mascot became an early growth driver on TikTok.
