Hospitality/ Travel/ Food & Beverage Roundtable: Transparency Sounds Great—Until It Hurts the Brand

About this event

In this month’s Hospitality, Travel, and Food & Beverage Roundtable, we’re unpacking a challenge many consumer brands face in real time: how transparent is too transparent when brand trust, reputation, and revenue are on the line?

Guests and customers increasingly expect honesty around pricing, policies, sourcing, sustainability, and service issues. At the same time, full transparency can expose operational challenges, fuel negative sentiment, or invite scrutiny that damages brand perception. Finding the right balance—especially in highly visible, review-driven industries—is anything but simple. This discussion will explore how brands in hospitality, travel, and food & beverage are navigating transparency without compromising trust, loyalty, or long-term brand equity.

This session is not a webinar. It’s an open, peer-led conversation created for communications, PR, marketing, digital, and brand professionals who want a candid space to share experiences, compare approaches, and learn from peers facing similar pressures.

We’ll Discuss:

  • When does transparency strengthen trust—and when can it backfire?

  • How do you decide what to disclose publicly versus handle privately?

  • How do reviews, social media, and third-party platforms change transparency expectations?

  • What role does monitoring play in understanding guest sentiment and emerging risks?

  • How do teams align legal, operations, customer experience, and communications when issues arise?

This roundtable is part of Meltwater’s Industry Circles program—client-only spaces inside mCommunity where professionals in similar sectors connect, collaborate, and learn how others are using Meltwater to solve real-world challenges in their day-to-day roles.

This session has limited availability, and registration will close once all 35 seats have been filled.
