Hi everyone,

We launched Meltwater Academy in April 2021 with one single course. In a year and a half, we have grown to 18 courses and over 27,000 registered users. 🤯 Well, with growth comes change, and we’re ready to start evolving the certifications we offer you. 

Over the next few months, we’ll change how we offer Meltwater Academy certifications. The below outlines how these changes will impact you. 

 

What’s changing to the academy’s courses?

 

Currently, you receive a badge and certification upon completing a course. Moving forward, we’re restructuring how you earn badges and certificates:

  • After completing a course you will earn a course badge but not a certification, and course badges can be added to your LinkedIn profile 

  • Courses will be grouped into learning paths containing related courses

  • Certifications will now be earned after completing a learning path instead of individual courses

  • No exam is required to earn a course badge

  • Exams will be required to earn a certificate, and the exam will contain sections from each course within the certification path

 

Which courses will be updated?

 

As of today, we’ve rolled out the new structure for these five courses:

  1. Creating Searches with Boolean: Foundations

  2. Boolean: Advanced

  3. Social Listening with Explore: Foundations

  4. Social Listening with Explore: Advanced

  5. Creating Custom Dashboards with Meltwater

 

What will you need to do?

 

If you enrolled in one of these five courses before today, you will notice the course name is updated with v.1 (version one). If you have enrolled in a v.1 course you can still access and complete them from your academy dashboard. You have 30 days to complete a v.1 course and receive its badge and certificate. After 30 days v.1 courses will no longer be available. If you’d prefer, you may enroll in the new versions instead. 

We will restructure our other academy courses to reflect these changes over the remainder of the year.

 

New Certification Paths

 

Today, we are launching restructured certification paths for Social Listening with Meltwater! Click the links below to learn more.

 

 

If the social listening use case doesn’t apply to you, don’t worry! You can still enroll in our Boolean and Custom Dashboard courses and earn your course badges! Individual courses will still be accessible and it’s not a requirement for you to complete a certification path. 

Over the remainder of 2022, we’ll be launching more certification paths. Next up: Media Monitoring with Meltwater Level I & II.
