1. What is True Reach?

Our TrueReach technology is based on a machine-learning algorithm that predicts the number of real views an influencer gets per post. It attempts to strip out inactive accounts, fake accounts, and bots from the influencer’s follower count. True Reach identifies patterns that correspond with real users vs automated bots or sporadic use.

2. Do our influencers have to have a creator or business Instagram account in order to connect to Klear?

Yes they do. Influencers must have an Instagram business account or creator account for us to be able to collect stories and stats from their Instagram content. If an influencer doesn’t have an Instagram Business/Creator account, they can easily change their profile type by updating their Instagram app settings. Influencers can follow this guide to convert their Instagram account.

3. What is the formula used to calculate engagement rates?

Klear calculates the engagement rate based on content in the last 6 months relative to the number of posts the influencer creates. If they're posting 10's of posts a day, we'll use 100's of posts in a given month to calculate that average. We are averaging based on the general audience of the influencer rather than the True Reach- this is done to keep the rate standard with industry practice.

4. What does EMV mean?

We rely on the Estimated Media Value (EMV) to measure the impact of a campaign and enable our clients to quantify the ROI. The EMV metric measures the value of reach and engagement received by an influencer on a campaign. It estimates how much ad spend would be required to receive the same results with paid media buying. When calculating EMV, we distinguish between network, type of post, type of engagement, and assign a benchmark value to each. The default metrics we apply are obtained using benchmark values from soulmates.ai.

5. What social platforms can Klear measure content for?

Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and Twitch

6. Why am I not seeing all of the demographics for a certain influencer?

Klear's system uses machine learning in order to provide the demographic data. The system then runs tests in order to determine the accuracy of this information. Sometimes, not all of the data passes the accuracy test and is therefore not included in the demographics.

7. How can an influencer authenticate with Klear and what is involved?

By choosing to link their social media account to Klear, influencers authorize Klear to access information such as audience insights, Instagram Stories and performance metrics. This is used to improve the way they collaborate with

brands. You keep complete control over which brands can see your information and the types of information they can see.

8. Why didn’t a post get automatically tracked?

If the post is an Instagram story it is likely that the influencer has not authenticated their account within Klear. The tagged handle or hashtag in stories must be in text format (not stickers). Keep in mind that all content an influencer posts must contain the correct hashtag, keyword or brand handle in the caption in order to automatically be tracked within Klear. Tracking keywords in comments will not be considered when pulling in content. Instagram doesn't make Reels available for automatic detection, however you can manually add these to your campaign to ensure there are no gaps in your reporting. You can manually add posts under campaign settings.

9. Why are YouTube metrics not included in my campaign data?

YouTube’s data policy prevents Klear from aggregating YouTube data with other social networks. You will still have access to YouTube performance data from the campaign, it will just be presented separately.

10. Why is an influencer's True Reach higher than their actual follower count?

True Reach is not only based on the influencer’s followers, but the total reach of the influencer’s content. This can include viewers who are not followers, if a post goes viral or if users come across the post through the Discover feature on social media, for example. A higher true reach is common among influencers who get a high engagement rate. For example, an influencer with above a 7% engagement rate of their fan base, will usually be close to, if not higher than the follower count. Keep in mind, the average influencer gets a 10% reach of the followers and a 2% engagement, so a 7% engagement is very high

11. Why am I not able to add this account to Klear? (not a business/ creator)

Klear is only able to work with Business or Creator accounts, if you are unable to add to a profile within Klear it is most likely set to a personal account.

12. An influencer in our campaign posted a Reel on Instagram and Klear is not tracking it, why?

Instagram doesn't make Reels available for automatic detection, however you can manually add these to your campaign to ensure there are no gaps in your reporting. You can manually add posts under campaign settings.

13. How do I add a YouTube channel to this influencer’s profile? I’m using the channel name but it isn’t working.

For YouTube, Klear relies on the unique channel ID rather than the channel name to create a profile.

14. How does Klear calculate the estimated price for influencers?

Klear uses machine learning to predict the prices for Instagram social media posts for three different post types: image, story, video. Our machine learning model is trained on thousands of receivers and data factors including; post type, follower count, audience strength, country, audience engagement, and more. All of which estimate unique suggested rates for each influencer, enabling you to predict your upcoming campaign budget.

15. Do influencers have to sign up with Klear for their content to be tracked in a campaign?

Influencers do not have to sign up with Klear in order for content to be tracked, while we do recommend that influencers authenticate their accounts for a variety of reasons, as long as they are using the correct hashtags, keywords or brand handles Klear will automatically track posted content.
