There are a number of ways you can create a smart alert in Meltwater - directly from the Alerts tab, through the alerts bell icon, via Explore or Monitor, and even from your Social Connections: Monitored Page.

Create a Smart Alert from the Alerts Tab

1. Select Alerts from the left-hand navigation bar

2. Select Create Alert

3. Click Search Alerts

4. Select the checkboxes to the left of the Alert name to create one or more alerts based on an Explore search

5. In this view, click View example to preview the alert layout and content

6. Click Close to close out of the preview

7. In the left-hand navigation bar are other alert types, including Event alerts, Social alerts, and RSS alerts. For these categories, only one alert can be created at a time.

8. Once you’ve selected the correct alert type, select Next.

9. Select the relevant Search

10. Select the similar mentions settings, and display settings

11. Add the recipient user

Note: Recipient users must have a Meltwater account login to receive alerts.

12. Select the correct Timezone

13. Select how you would like to receive the alert. Options include:

    • Standard

      • Email

      • Meltwater web (in-app notifications)

    • Slack

    • Microsoft Teams

    • DingTalk

    • Generic Webhook

14. Select Save.

Create a Smart Alert from the Bell Icon

1. Select the bell icon in the upper right-hand corner

2. Click Create more alerts in the pop-up

3. Select an alert type

4. Click Next

5. Fill in the details required for your alert type

6. Select Save

Create a Smart Alert from Explore

1. Click Explore in the left-hand navigation bar

2. Hover over the search you want to create an alert for

3. Select Create alert

4. Select an alert type

5. Click Next

6. Fill in the details required for your alert type

7. Select Save

Create a Smart Alert from Monitor

1. Select Monitor in the left-hand navigation bar

2. Select the + icon to add searches if you have not already

3. Once you have a search or searches pulling into Monitor, select Create in the top right-hand corner

4. Select Create alerts

5. Select an alert type

6. Click Next

7. Fill in the details required for your alert type

8. Select Save

Create a Smart Alert from Social Connections: Monitored Pages

1. Click the Account drop-down in the left-hand navigation bar

2. Select Social Connections

3. Select the + icon found under Competitors or Monitored Pages in the Facebook section

4. Click Create alert

5. Select an alert type

6. Click Next

7. Fill in the details required for your alert type

8. Select Save
