From time to time you may notice an article is missing from your results. This could be due to one of the following reasons:

  1. Keywords - Articles that haven't filtered into a search folder due to keywords could be a result of too restrictive boolean, possible mis-spelling or a missing keyword. Boolean searches are particularly prone to this as they typically have many criteria that require matching.

  2. Date range - The date range can be adjusted so ensure the date range includes the date of the article you are looking for.

  3. Source Type - The source type chosen for the search determines what publications you’re searching against.

In order to locate a missing article follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Explore page

  2. Select 'Create' under Keyword Search

  3. Copy/paste the title of the article in the search bar, press enter

  4. If it's an older article don't forget to adjust the date range + ensure the source is included in 'Source type' – click "update search results"

@WhitneyWilliams Could it also be that Meltwater doesn’t have that as a source? If so, would the process to get that source added be similar or would you need to contact your rep?

@BarBell24 - if you go through the steps here and in the How to Locate a Missing Article tutorial and you still aren’t able to find it, it’s possible that the publication may have made layout changes to its website, or it may not be monitored yet. In either case, our team on the backend will need to make updates to our system to bring it in. Please use support live chat to report this, and include a link to the article.

If it’s time-sensitive, this Help Center article walks through adding content directly: Adding Missing Content to Meltwater. Note that this will not add the source for the future, so it’s still recommended to submit this to our support team. 🙌
