Explore FAQ #4:
Why are some Explore analytics only available for X (formerly Twitter)?
The analytics available in Explore can vary by social channel because each platform has different APIs and rules about how data can be accessed and used.
Different Platforms = Different Data Access
-
For example, Facebook allows searching only within a predefined list of Facebook Pages, rather than across all public posts.
-
X (formerly Twitter) lets Meltwater search across all public tweets, giving access to much broader and richer data.
Because Meltwater has extensive data coverage for X, we’ve created the X Insights Tab in Explore. This tab surfaces detailed analytics and trends specific to X content, such as:
-
Top hashtags and mentions
-
Tweet volume over time
-
Author details and audience insights
-
Sentiment trends
Explore Widgets Tailored for X
Some widgets and analytics you see in Explore, like Top Authors or Hashtags, rely on this comprehensive X data and therefore may not be available for other channels.
