📺 Watch: Advanced Boolean Search Techniques

n today's Advanced Boolean Search Techniques Product Workshop, we took a hands-on look at how to build, refine, and optimize searches in Meltwater to surface more relevant results. The session focused on moving beyond the basics of Boolean and using advanced techniques to create more precise searches for different monitoring and analysis needs.

We walked through how Meltwater's AI Search Assistant can help build a strong starting point for a search, then demonstrated how to take greater control of the results using Boolean operators, filters, nesting, and custom categories. The session also highlighted how these techniques can work together to remove irrelevant results, answer more specific questions, and make large volumes of data easier to analyze.

We covered:

• How to use the AI Search Assistant to build, troubleshoot, expand, and refine Boolean searches
• How to use AND, OR, NOT, and parentheses to organize search logic and create more precise results
• How to use proximity operators like NEAR to find terms appearing within a specific distance of one another
• How to identify irrelevant results and build exclusions into your Boolean search
• How to incorporate social media and source-specific criteria into your searches
• How to use filters such as source type, location, and language to further narrow your results
