Whites continue to lead the buzz around Italian wines

When we asked the question ‘Who is stealing the show?’ it was really clear with our category analysis that white wines continue to lead global buzz when it comes to talk about Italian wines.

Our unified dashboard looks at the white, red and sparkling (bubbly) categories and have been designed to pinpoint key journalists talking about wines; Isabel Debre and Kate Dingwall appear to lead on the editorial side with talk about trade deals and high end brands whilst Richard Siddle’s 948 engagements have led us to the ‘STAR WINE LIST OF THE YEAR’ event which we believe might just be able to give us added visibility next year - that’s one event we would have missed without MELTWATER!

Overall, estimated views and engagements have a much larger bubble versus reds and sparkling wines and online news is the place to be.  Sentiment in general is very positive or neutral - which makes us feel comfortable and despite the tariffs, the US still seems to speak the loudest!

None of these valuable insights would have been possible without our MELTWATER analysis!

Thank you

Love the insights, I’d love any wine suggestions you could pass along from Meltwater results or personal recommendations

I personally love anything sweet, and my favorite is hands down, Moscato

@Gabriella Tomolillo this is such a great report and analysis! I love that you found the star wine list of the year event through Meltwater! As someone who worked in the wine industry back in another life I really enjoy following the changes in consumer behavior when it comes to the wine world, I wonder if white wine is driving the conversation as the weather gets warmer and we come into the summer months or it’s a more long term trend?

Thank you for submitting!

Love this! Definitely would have thought red wine would lead, but I’m curious to know what the overall sentiment is surrounding orange wine👀

Thanks for sharing @Gabriella Tomolillo, I love seeing how Meltwater helped bring more visibility. That is such a great win.

Also, should we start a wine club in mCommunity, or at least a thread with everyone’s favorites? :)

In Canada, we have lost access to US wines, which is especially painful because they are some of my favorites:

  • Rombauer Zinfandel
  • R8 Cab Sauv
  • @Maria Dehne I also love just about any Moscato

Your submission had some really interesting takeaways. It was clear from the analysis that white wines continue to lead global buzz around Italian wine.

The dashboard also helped highlight where that attention is coming from across white, red, and sparkling categories, including key journalists and opportunities like the Star Wine List of the Year event. It is a great example of how Meltwater can surface trends, visibility opportunities, and meaningful insights that might otherwise be missed.

Thanks again for sharing.

I’d join this club!
