Road to Summit: ICP Engagement Analysis and Channel Effectiveness Report

At my company we have been tracking social media engagement and interaction with our ideal customer profile. I created a report to see where we were getting the most engagement during the past year and saw that it is mostly in LinkedIn, showing the strength of our community there.

I want to find better analytics that show the crossover of our ICP and this engagement because I believe the majority of our interaction on that channel is from partners, but that still needs some discovery.

This reporting will help us refine our spend on non-organic promotion and also help us focus activity to how and where it is needed most.

I also am about to launch a campaign within our user community so I wanted to go through the motions on this campaign to see how it does, where it can be improved, etc. for us to bring to life.

Thanks for submitting @JenCas

Love that you’re digging into this before refining spend. A couple areas I’d encourage you to tighten up:

1. Who is actually engaging?
It’s great that LinkedIn is strong, but can you segment engagement by ICP vs partners vs employees? Even directional insight here would elevate this from channel performance to audience quality. How have you overlaid your ICP to this data?

2. What does engagement lead to?
Try to connect this activity to outcomes. Does LinkedIn engagement influence demo traffic, pipeline, or community participation? Even light attribution thinking shows maturity.

3. Define success for the upcoming community campaign.
Before launch, be clear on:

  • Who it’s for
  • The one behavior you want to drive
  • The primary KPI
  • What would cause you to adjust

I recognize that you may not have submitted all of your data.  These are the questions I had after reviewing your report.

Yes, definitely the right questions and I would need to bring in more of our team who probably have their arms wrapped around that portion of it. And completely agree about breaking down the ICP, which is why I mentioned it. that’s definitely the input we need! Thanks for the feedback.
