Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is seeking a Public Relations Coordinator, preferably in the firm’s Atlanta, Kansas City, New York, Chicago, or Washington, D.C., office (other offices will be considered). As a member of the broader marketing team, the Public Relations Coordinator reports to the Senior Public Relations Manager and is primarily responsible for advancing and elevating external communications efforts for Polsinelli, its attorneys and culture. This includes working with the responsible marketing managers in identifying and driving forward story ideas for key practice groups and attorneys, developing and executing public relations plans, arranging interviews, drafting firm announcement and award submissions and coordinating media coverage tracking. The PR Coordinator also works closely with Social Media to distribute content across the firm’s social media platforms and the website and with Internal Communications on promoting the same efforts. We are looking for a strong writer, ideally with experience in the legal industry, who can efficiently communicate complex topics and the interesting work our attorneys do across different sectors and practice areas.
Responsibilities
- Draft press releases and other communications materials for firm news, lateral recruiting announcements and more.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders to understand their public relations needs and work closely with them on content development.
- Assist with the media monitoring process, produce regular media reports and share relevant media coverage with internal stakeholders.
- Draft copy for external awards submissions, interacting with attorneys, marketing professionals and practice groups to draft and submit nominations.
- Monitor and draft responses to annual law firm surveys and work closely with regional marketing teams on regional surveys.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic communications and public relations plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key legal, business and industry trade media and regularly pitch stories to them.
- Work closely with the external PR agency to vet and schedule media interviews with attorneys and draft talking points for media interviews as needed.
- Work closely with the social media, website and internal communications teams to ensure the full internal and external content life cycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, public relations, journalism or related fields.
- Minimum two years of experience required.
- Legal industry experience highly preferred.
- Editorial/journalism experience welcome.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,000 - $85,000.
