Engage: Instagram Story Publishing via web, plus Facebook Mentions in Conversations

Publishing Instagram stories without a mobile app! View and action Facebook mentions right in Conversations!

What is it?

Instagram Story Publishing:

  • Instagram now allows for the Publishing of stories directly from the web! 🎉 This means users can draft, schedule, and publish Instagram stories directly within Meltwater, without needing to use the Engage mobile app! 🌟

Facebook Mentions

  • Facebook 3rd party mentions will now appear in Conversations, where users can view and take action where their brand is mentioned, even if the mention was not on their owned page. 💬

What's the value?

Instagram Story Publishing

  • ⏱️ Save time - Eliminate the need to publish Instagram stories through the mobile notifications flow. You can schedule your content in advance and trust that it will get published, no further steps needed.
  • ✨ Stay relevant and further your brand’s reach by meeting your fans across the post types they watch and engage with most - Instagram stories.

Facebook Mentions

  • 🧑‍💻 As Facebook pushes users to a New Page Experience, more fans are using 3rd party mentions to reach brands in lieu of the legacy visitor post.  Using Conversations, users can now view and action messages where their brand is mentioned, even if the mention was not on their owned page.
  • 💥 Capturing @ mentions ensures brands don’t miss important brand experiences and can either capitalize or protect against opportunities and issues.

Regarding scheduling Instagram Stories: is anyone able to confirm if there is currently a way (either via the web option or Meltwater app option) to schedule an Instagram Story through Meltwater, utilizing the LINK button option offered through the Instagram app? cc: @Jacinda Espinosa | @tarynjoiner |

Hey @Maria Dehne - I connected with one of our Product Specialists and asked her this question, and here is what she had to say:

“The direct publishing API (via the publishing console) only supports a single image or video, so they'd need to use the mobile publishing workflow.  with that, they can add the link natively using IG's features before posting”

So it looks like the link button is not currently supported via the Instagram API, so you’ll need to use the mobile notification publishing flow to finish the link in the Instagram app.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

@Jacinda Espinosa - thanks so much for the response! I will check out your link and see if it helps for what I’m trying to do. Appreciate it!
