When tagging a Facebook page using a URL that ends with profile.php, Facebook will not accept the tag.

 

This happens because Facebook identifies these URLs as personal profiles rather than business pages.

Follow these steps to create a username for your Facebook page:

  1. Go to your Facebook page.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Select General.

  4. Click Edit

  5. Enter a username for your page.

  6. Click Create username

  • Your username must be unique.

  • Your username can only contain alphanumeric characters (A–Z, 0–9) and periods (".").

  • Your username cannot contain generic terms or extensions (.com, . net).
